State of Maine Museum, Augusta, Maine hosts author Nancy Orr Johnson Jensen and Illustrator Dawn Peterson

Author Nancy Orr Johnson Jensen, (Helen, Ethel & The Crazy Quilt) read from Helen, Ethel & The Crazy Quilt, March 28 and 29 at The State of Maine Museum in Augusta. They exhibited the quilt the author's grandmother made, Helen Keller letters from 1890, and the beaded basket made by Helen Keller, all included in Jensen's children's book: Helen, Ethel & The Crazy Quilt. The quilt and the letters were a gift to the Museum by the Johnson family. Maine classrooms and teachers attended. There were activities for the children relating to the story. The general public, especially those interested in quilting, attended on Saturday. Author Nancy Orr Johnson Jensen and illustrator Dawn Peterson were present on both days to talk and sign books.

Nancy will make a second trip to Maine in July.

Woke up October 14 to see a mention of Robert Isham Auler's upcoming novel, Keep and Bear Arms in Roger Ebert's column. By the way, for those few of you who don't know: Roger Ebert has been selected as one of the most trusted columnists in America!

And a little while later, we watched as CBS Sunday Morning showed a clip from Tell Me You Love Me (HBO series), with another new Mayhaven author, actor and author David L. Selby, whose newest novel, Lincoln's Better Angel, will be available soon.

October 13, Wayne C. Temple (prolific writer and called the greatest living Lincoln historian), and co-author Sunderine Temple (Abraham Lincoln and Illinois' Fifth Capitol), recently made a rare personal appearance. You can also catch Wayne Temple on the History Channel and he will appear in an upcoming PBS documentary on Lincoln.

Cullen Porter (Grandpa Grumpy Pants) and various sisters (Ten Sisters: A True Story and Ten Little Sisters) have been making personal appearances around the midwest.
